What is Prosperous Intelligence?
An independent data platform covering citizenship, residency and global wealth. Scored indices use a 0–100 scale; Opportunity Map is a programme explorer without scores. The sources and data cut-off date of every index are published. More on the About page.
Where does the passport data come from, and is it accurate?
Entry conditions for 198 passports across 248 destinations are cross-checked against each destination government's official portal. Sources last checked: 2026-10-15; data version: 2026-10-15. Verify with the official authority before travelling. The checking method is set out in the Methodology.
How is "passport strength" calculated?
Passport power is the number of destinations a holder can enter without applying for a visa at a consulate in advance: visa-free entry, visa on arrival and electronic travel authorisation (eTA). e-Visas are not counted, because they are still an application that can be refused. See the ranking in Passport Index.
What is the difference between citizenship by investment (CBI) and residency by investment (RBI)?
Citizenship by investment (CBI) grants citizenship and a passport to an eligible investor, typically within 6–18 months. Residency by investment (RBI) grants residence rights; citizenship follows a longer path, usually several years. Opportunity Map lists each programme's conditions for comparison.
Does the platform cost anything to use?
All indices and tools are currently open to the public. No account is needed to look anything up.
How many indices does the platform have, and are they all live?
All 14 tools are open: 13 scored indices and Opportunity Map, a programme explorer without scores. Cost of Living Index offers two views: Affordability and Real purchasing power. The full list is in the Methodology.
Which passport is the world's strongest right now?
In the 2026-10-15 data version, Singapore leads the PI Passport Index with free access to 209/248 destinations. See the full ranking in Passport Index.
How many countries can the Vietnamese passport enter without a visa?
In the 2026-10-15 data version, the Vietnamese passport gives free access to 45/248 destinations (visa-free, visa on arrival and eTA). The full list with government sources is on the Vietnam passport page.
Which countries have no personal income tax?
Places with no personal income tax include the Gulf states (UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman), Monaco and several island states and territories (Bahamas, Cayman, Bermuda, Brunei, Vanuatu). No income tax does not mean no other taxes or charges. See the comparison in Tax Freedom Index.
How does residence-based taxation differ from citizenship-based taxation?
Most countries tax by residence: people pay tax where they live. A few, notably the United States, tax by citizenship: citizens must report worldwide income even when living abroad. This is a key factor when choosing a second citizenship or residence. Related terms are in the Glossary.
How is the Global Citizenship Score calculated?
A weighted composite of 8 indices: passport (18%), quality of life (16%), safety (14%), healthcare (12%), purchasing power (12%), education (10%), wealth protection (10%), tax freedom (8%). A country needs data covering at least 60% of the total weight; missing weight is redistributed across the pillars that have data. See each country's score in Global Citizenship Score.
Does Prosperous Intelligence advise on migration services?
No. Prosperous Intelligence is a neutral data platform and does not rank by sponsor. Investors use the data to make their own assessment, or take it to an adviser of their choice. Our operating principles are set out on the About page.
Is what I send kept confidential?
Yes. Information sent through the forms is used only to reply to the enquiry and is not sold to third parties. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Where does the index data come from?
Most indices draw directly on international open sources such as the World Bank, UNODC, WHO and OECD. Some datasets we compile ourselves from public sources, such as the entry-conditions table checked against government portals. Each index page names its sources, as does the Methodology.
How often is the data updated?
Every index shows the date of its latest data update. Indices built on open sources follow their source's publication schedule; composite scores are reviewed periodically before a new version is released. Update dates for all 14 indices are in the Methodology.
Should I base a decision entirely on the ranking?
No. This is reference data for research, not legal, tax or investment advice. Use it to narrow the options, then verify with the official authorities and professional advisers before deciding. The limits on using the data are set out in the Terms of Use.
Which citizenship by investment (CBI) programme is fastest?
No programme is always the fastest: processing time depends on the file, the due-diligence process and the rules in force when the application is filed. Caribbean programmes differ in structure, capital level and physical-presence requirements; check each programme's official portal before comparing. Each programme's conditions are on Opportunity Map.
Which country should you retire to?
It depends on the goal, but four factors should be balanced: cost of living, healthcare, safety and retirement visas. Popular destinations include Portugal and Spain (Europe), Malaysia and Thailand (Asia, moderate costs), Mexico and Panama (dedicated retiree visas). See the composite ranking in Retirement Destination Index.
What is Migration ROI?
Migration ROI measures the travel-access efficiency of an investment migration programme: the number of free-access destinations divided by the product of minimum capital (USD million) and the estimated years to citizenship. Gaps between programmes are narrowed and the result is put on a 0–100 scale. It is not a financial return and does not measure tax, healthcare or education. See each programme's score in Investment Migration ROI.
