Reading "passport strength" properly: visa-free, eTA, VOA, e-Visa
Four labels come up constantly when discussing passports, but they mean very different things:
- Visa-free — enter directly, with nothing to apply for in advance.
- Visa on arrival (VOA) — applied for and issued on the spot at the airport or border crossing.
- eTA — a quick electronic registration before flying (like the US ESTA).
- e-Visa — still requires an online visa application, which can be refused.
At Prosperous Intelligence, strength score = visa-free + VOA + eTA. Chúng tôi không count e-Visas, because they remain an application process that can fail — including them would inflate real-world strength.
This transparent method applies to all 198 passports, checked against government sources. See the details in Methodology.
